Eric Byunn
Partner, FTVentures

Eric Byunn joined FTVentures in 2002 and is a Partner leading the firm's software team. Prior to joining FTVentures, Eric was Director of Online Services at myCFO, a startup wealth management firm. He joined myCFO from America Online, where he held several roles including management of Netscape's Personal Finance Channel. Prior to the acquisition of Netscape by AOL, Eric led product management for the Netscape Navigator browser. He has also worked at Microsoft and at McKinsey & Company, where he primarily worked with telecommunications clients. Eric received an AB summa cum laude from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar; he is also a CFA charterholder. Eric is an active board member for a number of FTVentures portfolio companies including Cloudmark, Coremetrics, Covario, GMI, and SourceCode, and was actively involved with KVS (acquired by Veritas — now part of Symantec; NASDAQ:SYMC)


Cameron Lester
General Partner, Azure Capital Partners

Cameron Lester is a founding General Partner with Azure Capital Partners where he specializes in software and related infrastructure technologies. In addition to PSS Systems, he is on the board of ROME Corporation, SourceCode Technology and Zend Technologies. Other Azure investments include TopTier Software (acquired by SAP), Totality and VMware (acquisition announced by EMC). Prior to Azure, Cameron was Managing Director and Global Head of the Software Group with the Credit Suisse Technology Group. Prior to Credit Suisse, Cameron was a Director with the Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Technology Group and, previously, was Vice President in Corporate Finance with the PaineWebber Technology Group. Cameron received his B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Virginia and his M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.


Peter Nieh
Managing Director, Lightspeed Venture Partners

Peter is a general partner of Lightspeed Venture Partners, focusing primarily on software investments. He has spearheaded the firm's investments in companies such as DoubleClick, Informatica, KIVA Software, and Phone.com (now Openwave).

Prior to joining Lightspeed in 1995, Peter served in business development and product marketing roles at General Magic. He also ran Acer's portable PC business in North America, after serving as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering, an AB in Economics, and an MBA from Stanford University.


Deidre Paknad
President & CEO

Deidre is a seasoned entrepreneur and startup veteran with deep experience in SEC and FDA compliance markets and solutions. Deidre joins PSS from Nth Orbit, where she served as vice president of marketing and business development. Deidre founded CoVia Technologies in 1996 and served as its CEO into 2000. During her tenure at CoVia, an early innovator in collaboration and portal solutions, the company achieved significant customer traction with companies such as American Airlines, ADP, Credit Suisse, First American Financial, Intuit, Wells Fargo and others. The company was twice recognized for its innovation by the Smithsonian Institution. Before CoVia, Deidre was director of product marketing for Consilium (acquired by Applied Materials) and led the introduction of its market-leading FDA compliance software. She has held previous operations, marketing and executive positions in the semiconductor, software, and CPG industries. Deidre has a B.A. in political science from the University of California and attended Loyola Law School.


Alain Rossmann
Founder and Chairman

Alain Rossmann is a prodigious entrepreneur and technologist with a remarkable track record of corporate and innovation successes. Most recently, Alain founded Openwave in 1995 (NASDAQ: OPWV) and was its CEO and Chairman until 2000 and Chairman until 2001. He is widely credited with being the father of wireless access protocol (WAP), a technology that enables cell phones to access the Internet. Prior to Openwave, Alain was the CEO of EO Inc. from 1991 to 1994, when he sold the company to AT&T. Prior to EO, Alain was a founder and vice president of operations of C-Cube Microsystems from 1989 to 1991. He was also co-founder and vice president of marketing and sales at Radius. Prior to Radius, Alain held a variety of marketing positions at Apple Computer. Alain holds an MBA from Stanford University, an MS in civil engineering from Ecole des Ponts et Chaussée, and an MS in math and physics from Ecole Polytechnique in France.
